Guide: 5-Stud Upgrade & Brake Swap

Recommended Posts

just remove the olive, it's piss easy and saves ruining or cutting the threads too short.

and since no one ever mentions HOW to remove the olive from the caliper: find wood screw or self tapper, screw into olive, pull out.

easier than getting the grinder out and plugging it in.

Is there any reason why the Z32 conversion isn't used often? Everyone seems to be using Skyline parts

I was looking at getting a 5-stud hub kit and using Z32 Discs, Calipers and Master Cylinder

Anything wrong with this or should I look into using skyline parts like others?

Nothing wrong with it, just not as common to find Z32 parts.

I am sure more people would use it if they could since the calipers are much lighter than R series gear.

Use the S13 brake lines - BUT - the S13 banjo bolt won't fit into the S15 caliper. You have to either shorten the banjo bolt, or remove the 'olive' from the S15 caliper. You can do this buy screwing in a self tapper, then prying it out.
