Hey Nissansilvia, this will be my official thread where my work gets posted, stay tuned...

So NS Readers,

After to speaking to a few different people I made the decision to head out to QR to watch some track racing. I came home thinking it was the best QR event i've seen over the past 4 years! It was definetly up there with DA, not for the whole day, but for the A class and the whole 15 minutes they where out  Few cars in particular where absolutely thrashing it, and I heard the APC Evo came a few seconds off cracking the V8 lap time. Also the RGM Racing High Octane R34 GTR... I don't think i've ever had such a thrill through my body, when I saw this thing roll out of the pits i nearly shitted my pants! If i remember correctly Steve said it cracked the V8 time, which is incredibly fast!

Was an awesome day, and super happy I attended, ready for the next one too! Will definetly make this a regular thing! And boy some of these guys have some money, Two trailors in the car park and the tow cars where a AMG Mercedes, and a V10 VW Toureg both with personalised number plates, quite crazy how much money some of these guys have / put into their cars. Such an amazing thing to watch

On with the photos... I will post some of my favourites along with the Full Gallery.

Wonderful as always Casey!! Love that panning shot from the pits.. great concept..

I feel the shutter speed is a tad too slow on some of these.. But its a different effect and i like that, but just a tad more quicker would have been great.

Keep up the great work mate!!

Casey...ok, here's some feedback.

Great track shots!!

I like some of your angles and PP colors (#17).

But what i dont like is that the DOF on some of your panning shots (#5,10,11,13,14,20) is not enough and there is only a fraction of the car in focus and the rest blurry...that effect doesnt work for me, sorry.

It might not necessarily be your wide aperture, it could also be the angular plane on focus...not sure, there is no EXIF attached.

The panning effect is not from lack of DOF. Its because the shutter speed is low i would guess between 1/30th to 1/80th (Exif isn't showing for me at work) and not being able to pan smooth enough with it. This is bound to happen unless you have tonnes and tonnes of experience panning at this slow of a shutter speed.

This happens to me sometimes too, trying to get more motion blur in the background/wheels.

Flame me if it is because of lack of DOF haha :)

To be honest FST513, I think your right,

There have been a few photos where I have gotten the whole car in focus but mainly i'm down the lower end of the shutter range especially when it comes to more side on shots, when it comes to straight on or the ass end of the car depending on the situation and how the subject is placed I will use a higher shutter around 1/320th like the photo of the R32 GTR with the brake lights on.

I have been taking photos recently, last 2 days of the sun, honestly I think the sun is an inspiration and I could truly stare at it all day! So yesterday and today have been my main subjects for my Photo A Day Blog Here are a few.

Yeah, I thought so I can never seem to get out the window enough. I want to try it from a convertible I think it would be heaps easier for me.

The sun sure is inspirational for photos...."its all about the light"

However, the silhouette effect has been done to death and i'ld much rather see more detail in those dark areas.

btw, bring on the 5D2, lol just tempting u!!

Hey NS!

Well the past week I've been across the South Pacific ocean to New Zealand! I had never been there before until now and seriously it is just one of those places you could live. We flew into Christchurch and stayed one night and following the next morning catching the first flight to lovely Queenstown which is just South West from Christchurch mainly more inland getting off the coast. We where staying here for just under a week.

I just wanted to share some photos with you guys but if it isn't in the right place or shouldn't be here etc feel free to delete it and I'll move it elsewhere. I just want to show you guys what else I can achieve rather than motorsports / cars. So here are some of my favorites followed by the full album.

This Is New Zealand!

Hey!

Decided i'd go and have a taste of Archerfield as its been a while, managed to get some ok shots, none of the usual stuff, tried out alot of arty shots with the sun setting reasonably early didn't get too many shots!

Also picked up a 1D2 yesterday as a backup body, reminds me of the 1D2N =]twice the weight of the 1D3 and i could say their bulletproof =]

Its been a while since I've posted anything in my thread on here. I have still been shooting, but not as much as i want to be as i just went through exams etc and now on holidays so hopefully I'll be able to attend some track days this weekend and next week. Today i picked up a 400 f5.6L and a 1.4 tele-converter to help me get in closer of course. Anyway here are some images that it can produce.:)
