if you are wondering if you side mount seat will fit our rails the answer is easy....simply measure across the back of the base you should get ROUGHLY 40cms...then measure the distance between the mounting hoels on the side of the seat...they should measure ROUGHLY 29cms apart

as far as bottom mount is concerned, if your bolt holes are the following dimensions, they will fit

40 x 26 cm 34.5 x 27.1 cm

from wat i gather there is no law in aus to get an ADR approval on seat rails??

having said that, there is no other way to mount them

if they are illegal, they are just as illegal as a genuine bride or recaro rail, or fabricating your own

The bottom mount.

Is that a seatbelt buckle mount half way down the rail?

I would have thought it would be better to have the buckle mounted from the inner seat mount for the rail where it bolts up to the body. The seatbelt being essentially mounted to the trannie tunnel seat mount...Thats how its mounted from factory and all bride seat rails Ive seen. Do you reckon in a crash thats gonna withstand the forces transmitted through it or is it gonna bend/break?

IIRC genuine recaro rails and seats are legal as is, as cars have been sold in australia with them fitted as standard. Others need engineering AFAIK, as would these.

there is a different rail for skyline and sil -- both are available

and buying a genuine recaro with genuine rail doesnt make it legal -- its not engineered for the vehicle

u cant go buy a brand new recaro, a brand new recaro rail, bolt it into your silvia and away you go -- well not in qld anyways.. not without a blue plate

Fair enough, not sure about NSW TBH. Im engineered with bride rails.

So what was the logic of mounting the seatbelt mount as was done? Assuming thats what it is....

the seat belt mount on the seats is there if u wish to use it

u can still, and we recommend, you still use the factory stuff from the tunnell or on the seat
