BENT LICENCE PLATE

Recommended Posts

After having my car backed into (hit and run), I'm left with a bent licence plate.

Whats the best way to unbend it?

yellow pages and a hammer???

at work we just use a panel hammer and a hard edge like a cement step or something. pretty soft so not too tricky. if it takes too much paint off tho u might get some grief from the po po

Exactly the same thing happened to me the other day. I didnt even notice, my mate noticed b4 i did!

I pulled mine off and just hammered it flat on a block of wood.

But mine bent the bracket behind the bumper too so i still need to pull the bumper off and straighten it. CBF!

wrap it in newspaper or some spare rags then hammer it back so it doesnt take off the paint :)

For the people that say, why pay money for new plates? Because they are paying annual fees, so they shouldn't have to settle for bent ones.

Blood sucking NSW RTA charge a $100+ fee to anyone with a custom plate (70%+ members here I would guess).

It's not like the old days anymore, people are paying for green, red/blue/green plates at these stupid rates just so people can learn their nickname in ABC-123 format.

It really is crazy. football team plates etc etc...

use a bit of heat when you do it if you wanna try and get it looking the best and without cracking the paint so much

We dont pay fee's every year mate, Just a once off

lol exactly, u pay a once off fee when the car is first registered so for those without cusxtom plates, you probably never paid anything for ur plates.

ur a bit too political, theyre number plates.

Use a mallet instead of a hammer....a hammer may chip it and some cop who wants to defect you for everything under the sun will probably jump at that opportunity.

Sacrifice a "Picture" magazine purchase and buy a new one...

If it looks too dodgey, its just an excuse for the popo to pull you over, hassle you, and ask for the bonnet to be popped.
