Im looking at buying a 2781r turbo, apparently the gtx is better but have also heard they are not that much difference and the price gap is pretty decent, just wanna know if ill be wasting my money going a gtx when the gt will do.just the same, thoughts?

But with the gtx turbos they don't have the S14/15 bolt on inlet/ outlets compressor housing like stock and gt2871r series? So if you're after a true "bolt on" for a stealthy stock appearance is a gtx series good for you????

this is true. however, neither is a Z32 maf or a metal intake pipe.

because a gt2871 will suck the stock intake pipe shut. unless you can somehow make it stiffer. or cut the stock one to fit over a bigger intake pipe...

depends what your going for and end the game. myself, 2867 ended up being a good fit. bit of makeshift intake pipe, and good to go. but no restrictions or intake sucking its self shut.

if stealth what your after, perhaps a custom made turbo with some form of reinforced stock intake pipe will be required?

Yeh, the z32 afm and stock filter/airbox to turbo isn't a direct fit but it's pretty easy to make it for and look stock , the whole different turbo deal is a different story, for somebody that wants to keep a 95% standard appearance surely a handful of kw's less might be worth sacrificing for missing out on a defect or an emissions test?? Still nothing wrong with the old 2871r set up, even if is controlled by an Apexi power fc!!
